CHECKPOINT 01

Begin with the agreement

A brand can be used by more than one legal entity. Read the firm named in your account agreement and keep the date and country context. A brand-level reference cannot resolve an entity-level question.

CHECKPOINT 02

Use the official register

Open the regulator’s own register and search the legal name or licence number. Compare the status, names and contact details with the account documents. Our country pages link to stored official register addresses for this purpose.

CHECKPOINT 03

Keep the verification date

A registration record describes what was checked on a particular date. Read its status and source together. A historical authorised status is not a statement about the firm’s current status.

CHECKPOINT 04

Avoid a blanket safety conclusion

A registration is one piece of evidence. It does not guarantee a particular outcome, the safety of funds or the suitability of an account. Our completeness score is deliberately separate from regulatory status.

CHECKPOINT 05

Ask when the match is unclear

If the legal name, number or domain does not match, do not fill the gap by assumption. Use the official contact details in the register or request clarification from the firm before relying on the record.
