CHECKPOINT 01

Define the endpoints first

Write down what starts and stops the clock. Our method begins with the submitted request and ends when funds appear on the receiving statement. A processed status is an intermediate event.

CHECKPOINT 02

Record the payment route

Name the method, currencies and account entity. Bank hours, intermediaries and weekends may affect a transfer. Compare like routes and retain the conditions that applied to the request.

CHECKPOINT 03

Keep amount and time separate

Track the requested amount, any disclosed charge and the received amount independently of elapsed time. A quick transfer does not tell you whether charges were applied.

CHECKPOINT 04

Redact before uploading

Remove account numbers, identity information and transaction references that reveal private details. Preserve useful timestamps, currency and status labels where possible. Never upload an unredacted document for later cleanup.

CHECKPOINT 05

Leave the limits visible

One completed request is one observed result. Larger requests or another route may behave differently. A missing receiving statement should be disclosed rather than replaced with a decorative document.
